Route of half a day that we qualify of médium level due to the unevenness that is exceeded in which we passed of the 970m of altitude in its lower quota to the 1500m in its highest quota.
We find four sections on this trail where we can enjoy a space with a special biological diversity. It runs zigzagging between the wooded areas that occupy much of the “Ahí de Cara” mountain, where we will find a spectacular holm oak. We can also enjoy small habitats such as the one at the Fuente Perrancano or at the Alberca de la Hoya Peña.
Within the historical context highlight the inestimable value of this route in Muslim times and for several centuries later as nexus of union with the Sierra Nevada massif.
This precious path takes its name from the existing link with distinguished writers and prestigious botanists such as Simón de Rojas and Charles Edmon Bossier during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, who released important scientific expeditions and took this place as inspiration for historical adventures such as “El Bandido de Sierra Nevada” written by the French novelist Alexander Dumas in 1857, all within the historical context of the Romanticism movement that made Granada a place of pilgrimage of English, French and German.
